Chestnut honey has a very particular taste. The abundant chestnut tanins, characterize the intense taste with a hint of bitterness that goes wonderfully with the sweetness of honey. The taste is decisive, stong, aromatic and persistent. One of its main characteristics is that is does not crystallize, or it does very slowly in irregular ways. Chestnut honey is amber in color, it can be more or less dark and even have some red shades, it can change from golden amber to almost black. Also, its smell is strong and decisive, as its flavor.
Only one small spoonful of chestnut honey Sfiziosità in a cup of hot milk will confirm a very particular taste, not like any other type of sweetner. Eat it on toast and you will reveal its nature, "the nectar of gods", as it was once called. Try tasting chestnut honey sfiziosita' on a piece of toasted bread with a thin layer of butter. For those who love refined tastes, try it with medium aged cheeses.
